At The Shutter Group Limited T/A EASY123BLINDS, child safety is built into the way our blinds are supplied.

Blind cords and chains can present a serious risk to babies and young children if they are left loose or if the supplied safety devices are not fitted correctly. Please read this guidance before installing or using your new blinds.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

Our blinds are designed and supplied in accordance with the applicable child-safety requirements for internal window blinds, including BS EN 13120.

Depending on the blind selected, it may feature a cordless design, a breakaway system or a safety device that keeps the operating cord or chain securely tensioned and out of reach.

Always Fit the Safety Devices

Any safety device supplied with your blind is an essential part of the product and must be fitted following the installation guide.

Do not use a corded or chained blind until its safety device has been securely installed. The cord or chain should remain taut, tidy and out of the reach of children.

Keep Cords and Chains Out of Reach

Never allow blind cords or chains to hang loosely. Do not tie cords together or allow them to twist and form a loop.

Keep cots, beds, playpens, highchairs, sofas and other climbable furniture away from windows and blind controls.

Check Your Blinds Regularly

Regularly check that all cords, chains, tensioners, cleats and breakaway devices remain secure and operate correctly.

If a safety device becomes loose, damaged or missing, stop using the blind and contact us for advice or a replacement.

Do Not Alter the Controls

Never cut, extend, remove or modify a blind cord, chain or safety device yourself, as this could affect both the operation and safety of the blind.

If the supplied control length is unsuitable, please contact us before installing or altering anything.

Older Blinds

Older blinds may not include the safety features supplied with modern products. Check every blind in your home, particularly those in rooms used by children.

Where possible, consider replacing older corded blinds with a cordless or child-safe alternative.

Important Safety Warning

Young children can be strangled by loops in blind cords, chains and tapes. Keep all controls out of reach and move furniture away from windows to prevent children from climbing towards them.
