A few quick tips to help you get accurate measurements
and the perfect fit.
Use a metal tape measure
Fabric or plastic tapes can stretch and give inaccurate measurements.
Measure in millimetres (mm)
All our blinds are made to the nearest millimetre for the perfect fit.
Do not rely on old blind measurements
Even small changes to your window can affect the perfect fit.
Double-check all measurements
Always measure twice to ensure accuracy before placing your order.
STEP-BY-STEP MEASUREMENT
Follow these simple steps

Check Compatibility
Before measuring, ensure your window is suitable for Perfect Fit Shutters. You will need at least 25mm of clear space around the visible glass to allow the shutter frame to fit correctly. Also check for any obstructions that could interfere with the operation of the shutters.

Measure the Visible Glass Width & Height
Measure only the visible glass, from the edge of the glass to the edge of the glass, including any black rubber seal. Do not include the window bead or uPVC frame in your measurements. If the black rubber seal measures more than 5mm, please contact our Sales Team before ordering so we can check compatibility. Record both the visible glass width and height in millimetres.

Measure the Bead Depth
Clip the pelmet clips onto the headrail, then attach the pelmet. If required, carefully trim the pelmet to the correct length using a fine-toothed hacksaw before fitting.Measure the depth of your window bead from the edge of the uPVC frame to the glass. This is known as the bead depth and allows us to supply the correct fixing brackets. If you’re unsure how to measure your bead depth, our handy bead depth guide can help.

Measure the Handle Pivot Point
If your window has a handle, measure to the centre of the handle pivot point (the centre of where the handle rotates).
- Handles on the left or right: Measure from the bottom edge of the visible glass up to the centre of the handle pivot point.
- Handles on the top or bottom: Measure from the left edge of the visible glass across to the centre of the handle pivot point.
This allows us to position the handle cut-out correctly, ensuring your window continues to operate as normal.

Place Your Order
Double-check your visible glass width, visible glass height, bead depth and handle pivot point measurement before placing your order, then enter them exactly as measured.
Please note: As all shutters are made to measure, a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 5mm applies. This is standard across the window furnishing industry and ensures your shutters are manufactured within acceptable production tolerances
