BEFORE YOU START
Before you start measuring
A few quick tips to help you get accurate measurements
and the perfect fit.
Use a metal tape measure
Fabric or plastic tapes can stretch and give inaccurate measurements.
Measure in millimetres (mm)
All our blinds are made to the nearest millimetre for the perfect fit.
Do not rely on old blind measurements
Even small changes to your window can affect the perfect fit.
Double-check all measurements
Always measure twice to ensure accuracy before placing your order.
STEP-BY-STEP MEASUREMENT
Follow these simple steps

Measure the Width
Measure the width of your curtain pole or track, not the width of your window.
- Curtain Poles: Measure the pole between the finials (decorative ends).
- Curtain Tracks: Measure the full length of the track. If your track has a centre overlap, include this in your measurement.
If you’re installing a new pole or track, we recommend extending it 150–200mm past each side of the window. This allows your curtains to stack neatly away from the window when open and maximises natural light.

Measure the Drop
The drop you choose is entirely down to personal preference.
As a guide:
- Floor Length: Finish approximately 15–30mm above the floor.
- Below the Window Sill: Finish approximately 150mm below the sill.
- Above a Radiator: Finish approximately 10–30mm above the radiator.
Measure according to your chosen heading:
- Eyelet Curtains: Measure from the top of the curtain pole to your desired finished length.
- Pencil Pleat Curtains: Measure from the top of the curtain track or the bottom of the curtain rings to your desired finished length.
- Wave Pleat Curtains: Measure from the bottom of the curtain track to your desired finished length. For the best finish, we recommend leaving a 10–20mm gap above the floor.

Choose Your Heading Style
We offer three curtain heading styles:
- Pencil Pleat – Fullness ratio 1.75x
- Wave Pleat – Fullness ratio 2.0x
- Eyelet – Fullness ratio 1.5x
Don’t worry about calculating fabric quantities—we’ll automatically calculate the correct amount of fabric required based on your chosen heading and the width you provide.

Before You Order
Double-check your width and drop measurements before ordering. Please note that wider curtains may require fabric joins, which is completely normal for made-to-measure curtains and allows larger curtain sizes to be professionally manufactured.

Place Your Order
Enter your track or pole width and your chosen drop exactly as measured. We’ll calculate the correct curtain fullness and manufacture your curtains to suit your selected heading style.
Please note: As all curtains are made to measure, a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 50mm (5cm) applies. This is standard across the curtain industry and ensures your curtains are manufactured within acceptable production tolerances.
