Before you start measuring
A few quick tips to help you get accurate measurements
and the perfect fit.
Use a metal tape measure
Fabric or plastic tapes can stretch and give inaccurate measurements.
Measure in millimetres (mm)
All our blinds are made to the nearest millimetre for the perfect fit.
Do not rely on old blind measurements
Even small changes to your window can affect the perfect fit.
Double-check all measurements
Always measure twice to ensure accuracy before placing your order.
STEP-BY-STEP MEASUREMENT
Follow these simple steps

Choose Your Fit
Decide whether your Aluminium Blind will be fitted inside the window recess (Recess Fit) or outside the recess (Exact Fit). Recess fitting provides a neat, built-in appearance. For an Exact Fit, we recommend adding at least 50mm to each side of the recess for maximum coverage and reduced light gaps.

Measure the Width
For a Recess Fit, measure the width of the window recess in three places: top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions—our factory will make the necessary allowances during manufacture.
For an Exact Fit, measure the full width you would like the blind to cover, including the recommended additional 50mm on each side where possible.

Measure the Drop
For a Recess Fit, measure the drop of the window recess in three places: left, centre and right. Use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions—we’ll make the necessary allowances during manufacture.
For an Exact Fit, measure the full drop you would like the blind to cover, allowing additional coverage above and below the recess where required.

Check the Recess Depth
Before ordering, ensure your window recess is deep enough for your blind. For a Classic 25mm Aluminium Blind, we recommend a minimum recess depth of 35mm for a flush fit. Also check for window handles, trickle vents or any other obstructions that could affect the operation of the blind. Our Aluminium blinds are supplied with universal brackets suitable for both top and face fixing.

Place Your Order
Double-check your measurements before placing your order and enter them exactly as measured.
Please note: As all blinds are made to measure, a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 5mm applies. This is standard across the window blind industry and ensures your blind is manufactured within acceptable production tolerances.
